Jared and Carter were a little bored yesterday and decided to open a Lemonaide stand in our front yard. Only we didn't have any lemonaide so they used Crystal Light Peachtea.
I thought they might make a couple of bucks, after all it was a hot day. Those two made $18.
Not bad for an afternoon when your 8!

Germany or BUST!

I am going on my 2nd mission trip with my church (Grace Baptist) in August. A few years ago I went to El Salvador, so this is going to be a completely different kind of trip. We are going to Vilseck Germany to Rose Barricks where the 409th Base Support Battalion of the U.S. Army is stationed. Most of the soldiers are on active duty in Iraq. A team of ten from Grace will be helping lead Vacation Bible School for the kids of the soldiers as well as doing some things at night for the wives that are left at home to care for their families.
I am really excited about this trip. I hope that if only for a week we can make a difference in the lives of families who give up so much for our country and our freedom.
Please pray for us as we prepare and learn materials for VBS, gather needed items to take with us and also for financial blessing since we have to pay $1600 to go on this trip. Oh, and also pray hard for Jeff Chambers, he is the guy who is leading this particular trip and so far he is the only male from our church who is signed up to go. We would love to take another guy, preferably one who plays an instrument!
I know this is alot to ask people to pray for but I also know that our God is a GREAT BIG GOD!

ELI

I Scream! You Scream! Eli Screams for Ice cream!! Well, not literally screams it was more like a grunt, point and stick his tounge out. That was the cutest thing.

The boys and I (minus Josh, who is still in California) just got back from a trip to Alabama to visit family. We had a great time.
Sunday night we went to the Peach Park where Eli had to have an ice cream just like everyone else. I don't think this will be his last this summer. As you can see he enjoyed it!

BTW- the Peach Park is a GREAT place to get fruit, ice cream, BBQ and cobblers. It is in Clanton Alabama off I-65. If you are ever going through there you must stop. They were listed in the latest edition of Southern Living Magazine as having the cleanest bathrooms on I-65. What a trip! Of all the things they could have said about the Peach Park. They have great food, homeade ice cream and home grown fruits and veggies and Southern Living only mentions their bathrooms. That is just wrong! so anyway, stop and enjoy the food... and the clean restrooms.

Anyone who really knows me knows that I am a huge Third Day fan! I went to Lifeway Christian Bookstore the other day and got the deal of a lifetime. You can pre-order the Third Day CD that comes out July 29 th for only $7.99. That's a great deal, right. There is more my friends! BOOKS!!

I love to read! And I love books in general! It doesn't matter how busy I am or how crazy my world is I usually read a little everyday. As a matter of fact, if I don't have something I am currently reading I feel a little lost. Sometimes I get so involved in a book that I can't put it down, and so involved in the characters that they seem real to me. I really care what happens to them. NO I AM NOT CRAZY! My favorite author is Karen Kingsbury. I don't know what is wrong with her, she can't seem to write books fast enough for me. If you have never read any of her books I highly recommend any of them. I really love the Baxter series.
Anyway, people in my family have often ask me how many books I devour in a year and I have no idea. And sometimes I have read so many books that I don't know if I have read them or not. Makes sense, huh. I thought I would start a list of the books I have read this year. I know it is now May so it won't be extremely accurate but I wanted to do it anyway. I added this as a side bar on my blog and put in the books I can remember that I have read so far this year.
If you are sick of reality TV why not pick up a book!

Mother's Day

I saw on my niece Crissy's blog today where she had posted a picture for a online contest about motherhood. I have already been thinking about Mother's Day, working on a gift for mom. (mother's day is next weekend for my children who are reading this!) But anyway, when I saw that I immediately thought about this picture. It is and I guess will always be my favorite picture of my boys! This was taken the day Jared was born. Josh and Jordan really wanted to check him all out. I think Woody just took this picture of them looking at him and we really didn't think anything about it until we looked at it on the computer for the first time. Can't you just see how much they love him? I knew from this picture that we were giving them a great gift-another sibling to go through live with, no matter what it maybring. And I knew that he had the best gift-brothers who would always want the best for him and protect him from everything they could. My prayer is that even though they may fight sometimes that they always cherish each other the way they did that day!

I got a pair a couple of years ago but last year could not find my size any where. Friday Josh and I went shopping because it is tax-free weekend in TN. I found 3 pair in my size at Belk so I had to have them all. They are soooo comfortable. I will probably live in them this summer. If you haven't tried yellow box you don't know what you are missing!! Who knew flip flops could make a girl so happy?!

Need Extreme Blog Makeover

Extreme home makeover is one of my favorite shows on TV. No one else in my house likes to watch it with me. ( I think they are afraid they will cry)!! Well, just like those people on the show I am desperate for a makeover also, only in my case it is for this blog! As you know I am new at this and really feel like I don't know what I am doing!! I have so many friends who blog and have looked at lots of blogs of people I will never know. I want a great blog too! My friend Cindy just had a blog makeover by fabulous K designs. It looks great! She truly is a fairy blog mother!

New at Blogging

Ok-so here I go! I have been thinking about blogging for a while now so I finally decided to just dive in! We have so many things going on in our lives that I want to share with everyone. All I can say is that I will try to do a good job of keeping everything current. We are coming to the end of the school year for everyone. Josh will finish his second semester in college this week. (Boy does that sound weird!) He is leading worship for middle school to college students at another church on wednesday nights and has just started his 3 Sons Lawn Care business back up for the year so he is really busy. He is going to California May 20th to hike Half Dome. The pictures of the last 400 feet almost made me change my mind about him going. I will just have to do alot of praying! Jordan is almost finished with his sophmore year in high school, is active with basketball and working part time at Ingles. Jared will be an official 3rd grader at the end of may and with the beautiful weather he is hardly inside the house anymore! He loves to play outside with the neighborhood buddies and is having fun playing baseball right now. They grow up so fast. Everyone has camps to go to the summer plus a trip to NYC, so I will let everyone know how all that goes!
